Festivals and events are an ultimate way to get introduced with a country’s culture, traditions and lifestyle. Festivals bring out the best a nation boasts and let visitors enjoy everything including dance, performances, shows, races and much more. Though, keeping a track of all these festivals may be a daunting task, so here is a compiled list of top five festivals the world will host in the month of May. Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival)
Held annually, the globally recognized Festival de Cannes is an incredible celebration of cinematographic art. The festival is hosted with the thought of showcasing the new writing, new genres and new visual innovations of all times. Each year in the month of May, Cannes gives a sort of snapshot that includes both, ephemeral and lasting of which consists the art of cinema. This invitation-only festival even previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from around the world.

Rockfest Kansas City 2016
Are you ready to rock this may! Rockfest Kansas City 2016 is all set to kick off. Hosted by local radio station, The Rock, this year’s lineup will feature bands and artists including Rob Zombie, Papa Roach, Anthrax, Halestorm and Motionless in White. And something that makes Rockfest feel like a European festival is the freedom at the show as there are no assigned seats and you can move to the front for your favorite band while hanging in the trees.

Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling
The Cooper's Hill Cheese-Rolling is a yearly extravaganza held on the Spring Bank Holiday at Cooper's Hill, Gloucester in England. The festival was initially restricted till the people who lived in the local village of Brockworth, but eventually people from all over the world actively participate in the enthralling festival. The event takes its name from the hill on which it occurs. There are basically five downhill races; four for men, one for women, with one uphill component as well.

Pélerinage des Gitans (Pilgrimage of the Gitans)
The Pilgrimage of the Gitans or the Pilgrimage of Gypsies is a very religious event that is coupled with a tourist phenomenon. The event takes place in Camargue, the Saintes-Maries-de-la- Mer each year in the month of May. On the first day of this 2-day long event the statue of St Sara is removed from the church and paraded to the sea to symbolize her wait for Sts Marie-Jacobé and Marie-Salomé. The following da
