Alike every year, fireworks will light the beautiful sky over Lafayette on 4th of July while the colorful and glittering displays will mark the peak of summer at celebrations. Friendly festivals, patriotic pride, toe-tapping music and old fashioned games are some of the usual sights on this special day. This is one of the best times to kick back and relax with family and friends. The day is just perfect to celebrate summer and America all together.

At downtown Lafayette, several fun jumps, waterslides, train rides, patriotic dress up contest, along with mouthwatering food and drinks are on offer to keep the people entertained. People who love music can enjoy live music on the soundstage that starts from 6 in the evening. The much popular Freedom Fest in Parc Sans Souci Parc International, downtown Lafayette Concert is an excellent extravaganza that includes food, children’s decorated wagon parade, incredible music, beautiful fireworks and much more.

Quite close to Baton Rouge is the historic battleship USS KIDD that is the perfect setting for a one-of-a-kind experience. Keen visitors can take a tour of the destroyer and enjoy several fun activities like face painting, obstacle courses, inflatables and of course the concessions at the Freedom Festival. The energetic evening concludes with massive fireworks display over the sparkling Mississippi River.
